Dina is a native of Forest Hills Queens and raised there. She moved into Dix Hills Long Island before the close of her senior year in high school. Two of her brothers are Gregory, her elder brother, and Evan. The first time she was in the industry of entertainment was when she did some modeling at the age of 9 to 16. Ron Stetson was her teacher at The Neighborhood Playhouse where she began studying Sanford Meisner's acting techniques for three years. Sandra Bullock received similar training as did Michael Douglas and Jeff Goldblum. Leslie Nielsen, Diane Keaton and Diane Keaton are also among the actors that have undergone the same type of instruction. She got her first part in the soap opera Beverly Hills, 90210, that required her to relocate from Los Angeles to Los Angeles. Soon after, she scored the role of the main character in the film Johnny Mnemonic, in which she did almost all of her own stunts and established her as a sexy actress. Her agent was Matt LeBlanc, so through her talent agent, she was able to land a regular role in the show Friends.
