Chando lives in New York City. Chando went to Manhattan College and became an actor in the past. Chando performed the role of Maddie Coleman, the lead character in As the World is turning from 2005 until 2007; she then reprised the role for a short period of time beginning late 2009. Alexandra first made an acting appearance in 2002 through the TV show House Blend playing the character in the role of Jenna Harper. The following year, she was cast in the American soap opera for television which airs in CBS, As the World Turns in the role of Maddie Coleman. Chando starred in American documentary films True life and Sherri in 2009. She was also a part of the Maddie Coleman character in the series As the World turns. She starred two episodes in the American drama-comedy TV show Glory Daze. The other TV credits she has are Castle, Hindsight Dead People and Outcast.
